Formed in early 2022, the Mid Sussex Climate Coalition was created by members from various local climate and environmental groups who felt the need to better understand the role and responsibilities of our local government in tackling and adapting to the climate and ecological crisis.

Our first aim is to analyse and share information on the various councils' plans, targets and attitudes towards our shared future. We aim to make this information clear and easily accessible for the local population and for local environmental groups.
We also compare and contrast the climate policies being pursued in Mid Sussex with those in the rest of West Sussex, and we will be offering examples of best practice from across the country.
With a clear understanding of what can be done and by whom, we aim to highlight areas for concern and to step up as a collaborative partner when council begins a collaborative process with local citizens as they have stated they intend to.
